Eddie Edwards

Born in East Virginia, Eddie picked up the guitar as a child and taught himself to play American Folk and Blues. He was introduced to Irish music in his early twenties when he joined a pick-up band of Irish players. He moved to Lawrence in the 1990s, and then KCMO in 2002 — where he acquired the alliterative nom de plectrum “Eddie Edwards” – and has performed in a number of professional bands. Over the years Eddie has brought a vital spark to the Kansas City Irish music scene, organizing Irish sessions, creating the Irish Traditional Tune Learning Session at the Kansas City Irish Center, and developing the website Slowplayers.org to aid Irish music students. In 2012 Eddie founded the Scarlet Town Band, which in addition to other gigs, played Browne’s Street Fair and the KC Irish Fest 2013 -2016. In addition to performing and teaching, Eddie is working on a tune book entitled The New Midwestern Irish Session Tune Book, and updating his website Slowplayers.org..
Dave Agee

David Agee grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and got his first guitar at the age of ten. He first started playing Irish music in 1980 with a local band named Talisman,and then went on to play and record with other Irish groups such as Scartaglen and Blackthorne. He has also been featured on Gerald Trimble’s, “First Flight”, and Tom Schroeder’s, “An Artistic Autoharp” as well as Jim Cosgrove’s series of children’s CDs. David played with The Shoe String Band (CD “A Box of Fiddle Tunes”), and with the Scarlet Town Band .
